Daniel obtained a Ph.D. from Rockefeller University, where he studied how lipid chemistry and membrane tension modulate ion channel function. Before, he studied biochemistry at the Eberhard-Karls University, Tuebingen. His research focuses on the engineering of novel molecular tools for the study of complex processes ranging from brain function to cancer.
